About

The mood of The Wireless was established quickly: this isn’t an ‘Acoustic’, ‘Unplugged’ or ‘Open mic’ night — some of our acts are plugged in, hitting things or even completely void of any accompaniment. The idea was to create a night which has an atmosphere; coffee-scented, red wine haze evenings with pin drop silence for the barely audible whispers of a folk songstress into rousing choruses for sing-along songs.

Unlike other sawdust-floored, beer soaked nights The Wireless is set in Cha Cha Cha, an arts café set in the grounds of Watford’s Cassiobury Park. As well as providing a brilliant setting the good folks of Cha Cha Cha provide a selection of beers, ciders, wines, teas, coffee, soft drinks and the best home-made vegetarian chilli this side of Mexico.

When it comes to the music every act is hand-picked by us for you. We’ve had comedy acts from the likes of Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, traditional folk from Owl Collective staples such as Nancy Wallace and The Straw Bear Band, and some rising stars in the shape of The Staves, The Tailors, Tim & Sam’s Tim & The Sam Band, Kyla La Grange, Stealing Sheep and Pete Roe — to name more than a few.

If you’d like to play at The Wireless then drop an email over to our Ross. You can find him on ross@thewirelesswatford.com. Thankfully he’s a nice guy too.
